Anodized
Finishes
Anodizing is an electrochemical process that enhances aluminum’s natural oxide layer, creating a durable, corrosion-resistant, and decorative finish. Manko Window Systems provides a broad range of standard and custom anodized finishes to meet your project needs. Anodized finishes can be provided in either a Class I or Class II finish (clear only for Class II). All anodized finishes should be uniform in appearance and free of imperfections with the exception of minor flow lines or structural streaking.
High performance anodic coatings used in exterior applications receiving periodic maintenance and minimum oxide coating thickness of .7 mil. This finish carries a standard 5-year warranty, with the option to increase to 10 years.
Commercial anodic coatings used in interior applications or exterior applications receiving regularly scheduled cleaning and maintenance and minimum oxide coating thickness of .4 mil. This finish carries a standard 2-year warranty and Manko only provides this material in a clear finish, however this is not a stocked finish item
Inspecting the finishes should be observed at a distance of 10 feet from the metal at a 90-degree angle to the surface in natural daylight. The finish should fall within the manufacturer’s standard color range.
